This is a personal site with E-Series-related sizing apps by scaleoutSean. It aims to eliminate and delay the hassle of sizing.

Eventually, you may need to use some Excel or whatever, but until then you won't. Instead of using Excel five times, you may use it just once when delivering your proposal. #winning

Tools:

• NVMe sizer - for EF-Series with NVMe drives. Provides DDP capacity sizing as well as RAID 1 and RAID 6 breakdown.
• BeeGFS sizer helps you size E-Series for data (RAID 6-based) and metadata (RAID 1-based) capacity and file count estimate. It also contains over 600 sample configurations for DDP, R6, and R1.

While some performance-related details may be available from public data on E-Series (and then shared here), performance sizing is not included in these apps. For performance sizing, please contact your NetApp or their partners.

This site uses JavaScript - not my favorite programming language, but it gives us the ability to run free "public service" sites like this one on the cheap.

"Brute-force sizing" configurations from BeeGFS sizer were created in PowerShell. The sizer (page) loads them as JSON and displays them in a table.
